THE GOAL

PACE challenged the teams to create a shared method of transportation that can be reconfigured to satisfy the passenger and cargo needs of a target market.

THE RESULT

Our team designed the "Ta-Da" concept vehicle and presented our concept at the PACE Annual Forum in São Paulo, Brazil where we won several awards.

THE IDEA

Our vehicle expanded from a 2-seat vehicle to a 5-seat vehicle for various passenger and cargo needs. The interior transformed into several configurations including an office, bedroom, and meeting room.

THE AWARDS

We won the "Overall" award, 1st Place for Product Engineering, 1st Place for Manufacturing Engineering, 1st Place for Consumer Insights, and Best Interior Design.

Takeaway

The most important aspect of this project was the collaboration between several international universities (Hongik University, Tuskegee University, University of British Columbia, Jilin University, and Instituto Politecnico Nacional). I experienced the challenges of communicating and exchanging ideas with a large global team. But sharing ideas, sketches, and thoughts with international teammates was an enlightening experience as they brought different points of view that I never would have considered. Overall the experience helped me grow as a supportive contributor and an effective leader.
